When the league cancels an event due to inclement weather or poor field conditions we will:
1. Close the affected field(s) via the website. This will send an auto-generated text message to ALL memebers (players/coaches/parents/officials) associated with the field.
IMPORTANT: in order to receive the message you MUST enable this on your DYSL account. Log into your account and perform the following steps on your Contact tab:
a) Enter your cell phone number in the designated field
b) Select "Roster" from the dropdown menu in the next field
c) Provide your cell phone carrier from the dropdown menu in the last field.
d) Click the blue "Submit" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
2. We will also update the scrolling banner message on the front page.
3. Lastly, we ask coaches to also contact players/parents themselves and notify officials and teams from outside Dover to avoid any unnecessary travel. Many coaches will set up a team text but they also can send a team email via their team page on the website.
