Thank you for your interest in coaching in Dover Youth Softball League (DYSL).  Our goal is to help provide you with necessary answers to your coaching questions and other resources to make you and DYSL successful.

ALL volunteers who want to be "on the field" interacting with the players MUST complete the following:

1. DYSL Coaching application

      Each position and each season requires submission of a new appliation. Apllying to become a coach does not guarantee acceptance.

2. Babe Ruth League Background check/Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) Training

     The class is online through BRL.  Training is good for two years.  The cost is $25.50 which DYSL will reimbuse upon request to the league Treasurer.

3. CoachSmart NH - Required by City of Dover Recreation Dept. This is a one-time class given by Gary Bannon. It doesn't expire and is good for any youth sports within Dover.  We work with the departemtn to set up one or two classes each spring.

NEW REQUIREMENT!!

Per Babe Ruth League,  all coaches and volunteers are required to complete a background check via Babe Ruth starting 2019.  This includes completion of  Abuse Prevention Training as well.  The cost is $25.50 and is good for two years.  DYSL will refund your fee upon request to the league.  Please see the Background Checks subpage for further details and the link to training.
