Welcome to team Kennebunk Savings

Welcome to team Kennebunk Savings!

You're getting this e-mail if your 9, 10 or young 11 year old has been assigned to Dover Youth Softball’s 10U Kennebunk team! As one of your team’s coaches, I wanted to send out a quick "hello" before tomorrow's first practice (7:15pm p.m., Woodman Park School).

My name is Melissa LeBlanc and will be co-coaching with Keith Fortier (DYSL 10U director) and assistant coaches, Erin Mills and Chris Rowan.

Our primary goals are to work to help the players have an awesome season, grow their love for softball and develop as players, with an emphasis on fun! We are all approachable and willing to answer any questions you have. Don’t hesitate to ask anything along the way.

We have a great group of kids on this team. And the coaching isn’t too shabby either. 😊I’ve coached my daughter, Laynie, (and other two children) since tee-ball, not because of my resume but rather because the baseball and softball leagues were short volunteers. What I lack in experience or softball knowledge, I make up for in effort and education. I may not always make the right decisions but always have the players in mind and do the best I can.

Coach Keith is dedicated to DYSL and the players. He’s our U10 director and a busy dad of 3 daughters. His daughter, Charlotte “Char”, is a second year 10U player and an excellent pitcher.

Coach Chris coached his daughter, Rowan, a few years back and is looking forward to coaching again. He’s an avid Red Sox fan and a great guy!

I have only met Coach Erin briefly but Coach Keith speaks very highly of her and really wanted to coach with her. I look forward to getting to know her with you! I believe Erin has coached her daughter, Finleigh, before.

  • MONDAY 7:15-8:15pm @ Woodman Park School

  • THURSDAY 6:15-7:15pm 7:15-8:15pm @ Woodman Park School.

You are welcome to stay or drop off and pick up at all practices except for the beginning of the first one. We will go over a few things once we have the players settled in.

  • These players range from first timers to those that have been playing since they were 4. We will be reviewing a lot of the basics and some more advanced skills throughout the season which will present a challenge, but it will all work out. Focus and great listening is key!

  • Equipment:

    • DYSL has lots of extra equipment. If you are short something, please let me know and I can help you.

    • If you would like us to check out the equipment you have for proper sizing, etc. let me know or come a lil early/stay a lil later and we’d be happy to check out what you have.

In an effort to be brief (my husband would argue that is impossible for me 🤪), I'll cut it off here but please feel free to reach out at any point during the season to any of the co-coaches. Let's talk more during the parent/coach meeting at practice!

Looking forward to a great season,

Melissa LeBlanc (aka "Coach Melissa")
